Terms of service
Plain-language terms for booking and repair. [TO BE REVIEWED BY COUNSEL BEFORE PUBLICATION; Ontario Consumer Protection Act and Quebec Consumer Protection Act apply.]
1. Requests and appointments
An online or phone booking is a request. An appointment exists only once RepairWell has confirmed a date and arrival window with you. Arrival windows are estimates; we notify you of delays.
2. Diagnostic fee
The diagnostic visit is $89 plus applicable taxes and covers travel within our standard service area, inspection and a written finding. It is waived when you approve the quoted repair and the repair is completed. Any travel surcharge for an outlying address is stated when you book. A second appliance diagnosed on the same visit is $45. Visits are scheduled within our posted hours.
3. Quotes and approval
No repair begins without your approval of the written quote. If additional work is found, we stop and seek approval before proceeding. In Quebec, the written finding constitutes the written estimate required by law.
4. Parts
Ordered parts are included in the approved quote. We don't ask for a deposit on ordered parts. If a part goes on back-order we tell you the expected date and you can cancel without charge.
5. Warranty
90 days on labour and installed parts. Details on the warranty page. Statutory warranties under provincial law are not limited by these terms.
6. Cancellations
You can cancel or reschedule free of charge any time before the technician is dispatched. If nobody is at the address for a confirmed appointment, the $89 diagnostic fee applies for the wasted trip.
7. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the repair, or of the diagnostic visit where no repair is approved, by the methods stated on the invoice. Property-manager accounts may have monthly terms by agreement.
8. Safety and access
You agree to provide safe access to the appliance. We may decline work we consider unsafe, including gas, electrical or structural conditions outside the appliance, and will tell you why in writing.
9. Liability
We carry commercial general liability insurance. If we damage your property through our own negligence, tell us and we will put it right. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or the Quebec Consumer Protection Act.
