Maytag calls in Ottawa and Gatineau are mostly laundry: large-capacity top-load washers, front-load washers with matching dryers, and the older Maytag-built machines that predate the Whirlpool acquisition and are still running in basements in Nepean and Hull. We also see Maytag French-door fridges, dishwashers and ranges, usually bought as a kitchen package.

About Maytag appliances
Maytag is listed by Whirlpool Corporation as one of its major brands, alongside Whirlpool, KitchenAid, JennAir and Amana. Maytag's Canadian site (maytag.ca) has a model and serial number locator, and its product-help site gives locations by appliance configuration that match the Whirlpool ones, which reflects the shared engineering.
For repair, the important split is between Maytag appliances built after the Whirlpool acquisition, which use Whirlpool platforms and parts, and the older Maytag-designed machines (for example the Dependable Care top-loaders and Neptune front-loaders), which use different transmissions, pumps and controls. Both are repairable; the model number tells us which family you have before we arrive. Maytag markets some current washers and dryers on commercial-style components; we do not repeat lifespan claims, and the written finding tells you what we actually observed.

Maytag's product-help page gives these locations. Front-load washer: inside the washer door on the rim of the opening. Top-load washer: beneath the lid on the tub rim. Dryer: inside the dryer door on the rim of the opening (ventless: behind the water tank). Stacked laundry: inside the dryer door. Built-in dishwasher: left side of the tub frame. Top-freezer, bottom-freezer, French-door and four-door fridges: inside the fresh-food compartment on the left-hand side; side-by-side: right-hand side. Upright freezer: right-hand side near the top; chest freezer: left interior wall. Range: on the oven frame or storage-drawer frame; commercial-style ranges on the ceiling of the oven cavity. Cooktop: underside. Built-in oven: top of the oven cavity. Over-the-range microwave: front frame with the door open. Range hood: behind the left filter.

Parts and compatibility
Current Maytag parts are Whirlpool-family parts and are widely available in Canada. Older Maytag-designed machines use their own transmissions, pumps, belts and controls; many are still obtainable, some are not, and the written finding says which before you decide. We use original parts for controls, lid locks, gas components and anything safety-related, and offer a comparable part only where it is a sensible option for a simple wear item.

Where is the model number on a Maytag top-load washer?
Lift the lid and look on the tub rim. On front-load washers it is inside the door on the rim of the opening.
My old Maytag washer still works well but has a problem. Is it worth fixing?
Often yes. The older Maytag top-loaders are mechanically simple, and a pump, belt or lid switch is a modest repair. If the transmission has failed or the part is discontinued, the finding will tell you and you can weigh it against replacement.
Do you repair Maytag commercial-style dryers in apartment buildings?
Residential-style Maytag dryers installed in multi-unit buildings, yes. Coin-operated commercial laundry is a different category; see our commercial page or call and we will tell you on the phone.
How long do Maytag parts take to arrive?
Many are on the truck because they are shared with Whirlpool. Others come in days from Canadian distributors; back-ordered or discontinued parts are flagged in your written quote.
