Haier is a Chinese appliance manufacturer. Its U.S. appliance business, Haier US Appliance Solutions, publishes rating-plate locators by product type on haierappliances.com; Haier Canada has its own contact site. Haier acquired GE Appliances in June 2016, and GE Appliances now describes itself as "a Haier company"; Haier also purchased a majority of Fisher & Paykel Appliances in 2012.
For repair, Haier-branded appliances sold in Canada are mostly compact, value-priced units with model-specific electronics. Rating plates are most often on the rear of the unit, with a second location inside on many models. Compact washer-dryer combination units and ventless dryers have their own layouts. A Haier product may share parts with GE Appliances platforms on newer models; the model number decides.
Finding your Haier model and serial number
Haier's support pages say the most common location is the rear of the unit, and give these details. Top-freezer fridge: on the rear, toward the bottom. French-door fridge: on the left side wall inside the fresh-food compartment, next to the crispers. Compact fridge and beverage centre: on the rear, or at the top left corner of the left side wall inside. Wine cellar: top left corner of the left side wall inside. Chest freezer: on the rear, just below the hinge. Top-load washer: on the rear, or under the lid by the hinge on larger models. Front-load washer and washer-dryer combo: on the rear, or on the frame around the opening into the basket. Dryer: on the rear, with a second tag on the frame around the drum opening. Dishwasher: on the rear, or inside the tub on the left side wall next to the lower rack.

Parts and compatibility
Haier parts are ordered by model number through Haier's North American distribution and, for newer models, sometimes through GE Appliances channels. Availability is reasonable for common components on recent models and less certain for older compact units; the written finding tells you before you decide. On a low-cost compact appliance, a compressor or control board can cost more than the unit is worth, and we say so plainly.

Is Haier the same as GE?
Haier owns GE Appliances, but Haier-branded and GE-branded appliances are separate product lines with separate parts. Some newer Haier models share GE Appliances platforms; the model number decides.
Where is the model number on my Haier fridge?
Most often on the rear of the unit near the bottom. On French-door models it is inside on the left wall next to the crispers, and on compact fridges and wine cellars at the top left inside.
Is a Haier bar fridge worth repairing?
If the fault is a thermostat, fan, relay or door seal, often yes. If it is the compressor or sealed system, usually not on a compact unit, and the $89 finding will say so; that is all you pay.
Do you repair Haier washer-dryer combination units?
Yes. They are common in condos without a dryer vent. Tell us the model number and any fault code when you book.
How long do Haier parts take?
Common parts for recent models are often available in days; older compact-unit parts can take longer or be discontinued. The written quote gives the expected time.
