Amana is listed by Whirlpool Corporation as one of its major brands. Amana Canada (amanacanada.ca) publishes a model-number locator by appliance type that matches the U.S. Amana site. Historically Amana was an independent Iowa manufacturer known for refrigeration, and older bottom-freezer fridges and ranges from that era still turn up in Ottawa and Gatineau basements; they use different parts from the current Whirlpool-platform units.
For repair, current Amana appliances are mechanically close to Whirlpool's base models, which keeps parts available and repairs simple. Electromechanical timers and dial thermostats are common on Amana units, and those are inexpensive to replace. Where a control board is fitted, it is model-specific.

Microwave: inside the cavity on the front frame. Hood: underneath the unit when installed. Dishwasher: in front of the door seal on the tub, top left-hand corner. Top-load washer: on the top, at the rear of the well to the clothes container. Front-load washer: vertically on the outer edge of the door. Top-load dryer: inside the door in the upper recessed area of the front panel; front-load dryer: horizontally on the shroud inside the door, in front of the lint screen.

Current Amana parts are Whirlpool-family parts and are widely available in Canada, often on the truck. Older Amana-designed refrigeration and cooking parts are a separate supply and some are discontinued.
