Who makes Bertazzoni. Bertazzoni was founded in 1882 by Francesco Bertazzoni in Guastalla, Italy. It is still privately owned and run by the family, now in its fifth generation, and it manufactures in Guastalla. It began selling in the United States in 2005, and by 2012 the U.S. was its largest single market. Smeg shares the same family roots: the family split after the Second World War. The two are now separate companies, with separate designs and separate parts.

Series. Bertazzoni's Canadian site sells the Professional, Master and Heritage series. It lists cooking (ranges, convection ovens, specialty ovens, rangetops and cooktops), refrigeration (built-in columns, built-in bottom-mount and freestanding), ventilation (wall-mount, liner, visor and over-the-range) and dishwashers. The series changes the knobs, handles, trim and colours. It can also change the burners, oven size and controls, so we work from the full model number.

Features that change a repair.

• Brass burners with a thermocouple on each. Bertazzoni's 36-inch Professional dual-fuel range (PRO366BCFEP) has six brass burners: two dual-ring 19,000 BTU power burners and a simmer down to 750 BTU. It has one-hand ignition and a thermocouple on every burner that shuts off the gas if the flame goes out. A burner that lights but dies when you let go of the knob is the classic thermocouple-related complaint. The fix can be as simple as holding the knob in a little longer, but a failing thermocouple or valve is gas work.
• Electric convection oven. The same range has a 5.7 cu ft (about 161 L) electric oven with a dual convection fan, self-clean, an air-fry mode, a digital temperature gauge and a food probe. It needs a 30 A circuit at 120/240 V or 120/208 V. When the oven won't heat, we check the elements, the convection fans and the temperature sensor, and after a self-clean, the door lock.
• Induction ranges. Bertazzoni's 30-inch Professional induction range (PRO304IFEP) has four zones up to 3,700 W, bridge zones that join for large pans, a 4.6 cu ft (about 130 L) self-clean oven with dual convection fans, and needs a dedicated 40 A circuit. A zone that won't recognise a pan can be the cookware, a zone fault or the power supply. We start with the pan and the circuit.
• Speed oven with steam. Bertazzoni's 30-inch speed oven combination (FPRO30COVTC) has a 1.6 cu ft, 2,000 W microwave speed oven on top and a steam-assist convection oven with pyrolytic self-clean and a descale mode. The microwave part is technician-only, because its internal parts hold a dangerous charge even when unplugged.

Recalls. We searched the Government of Canada's recall database (open dataset, updated 24 September 2026) for Bertazzoni and found no Bertazzoni recall listed.

Finding your Bertazzoni model and serial number

Bertazzoni calls the label on a range the rating tag. Bertazzoni's use-and-care manual for its Professional series range says the rating tag shows the model and serial number and is located under the front edge of the range cooktop, and is visible when the oven door is open. Open the oven door fully and look up at the underside of the cooktop's front lip; a phone camera helps. The same manual notes that the wiring diagrams are behind the rear panel, which is technician territory.

Parts and compatibility

Bertazzoni builds its appliances in Guastalla, Italy, and parts are specific to the series, width, fuel type and colour. Burner heads and caps, knobs, handles, coloured door panels and oven door glass differ between Professional, Master and Heritage models. Electrical parts such as elements, fans, sensors, door locks and controls are matched by model number. Parts not stocked in North America take longer. We give you the expected lead time in the written quote and do not promise a date we can't back.

RepairWell is independent and orders through Canadian channels. Parts and labour we install carry our 90-day warranty. Two things are outside our own scope, and the written finding will say when they apply. Gas burners, igniters, thermocouples, valves and the gas connection go to the certified gas contractor we work with. A range that trips its breaker because of the 30 or 40 A circuit itself needs a licensed electrician.
