Bosch appliance repair

In Ottawa and Gatineau, Bosch usually means the dishwasher. Bosch 300, 500 and 800 Series dishwashers are in a large share of renovated kitchens from the Glebe to Aylmer, and they are the most common premium dishwasher we service. We also see Bosch compact 24-inch washers and condensing or heat-pump dryers in condos with no dryer vent, along with Bosch wall ovens, induction cooktops and bottom-freezer fridges.

Bosch dishwashers dry by condensation rather than with an exposed heating element, which changes both what a "not drying" call means and how it is repaired. RepairWell is an independent repair service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorized by Bosch or BSH Home Appliances. We diagnose for $89, waived when you go ahead with the repair.

About Bosch appliances

Bosch home appliances are made by BSH Home Appliances and sold in Canada through bosch-home.ca. Bosch's own material states that "all Bosch dishwashers use a condensation drying process" rather than a heating element at the bottom of the tub, that this keeps plastics safe in the lower rack, and that models with CrystalDry use a mineral (zeolite) to convert moisture into heat. Bosch also markets its dishwashers on quietness, with sound ratings published per model in dBA.

Bosch identifies an appliance by its E-Nr (model number) and FD number (production date code) on the rating plate. Both matter for parts, because a Bosch part is often specific to a production range within the same E-Nr. For repair, condensation drying means a "dishes still wet" complaint is often a rinse-aid, loading or heater-circuit question rather than a failed drying element, and the technician checks those in that order.

Finding your Bosch model and serial number

Bosch's own support pages give these locations. Dishwasher: a label on the top or side rim of the door, visible when the door is open. Washer and dryer: a label on the inner rim of the door, visible when the door is open. Fridge and freezer: inside the appliance, visible when the bottom drawer is pulled out. Oven: on the outer rim of the appliance, visible when the door is open. Cooktop (induction or gas): underneath the appliance, visible only when it is lifted from the cut-out, so photograph it before installation. Range hood: inside the hood, behind the grease filters. The plate shows the E-Nr (model number) and the FD number; give us both.

Parts and compatibility

Bosch parts are keyed to the E-Nr and the FD production code, so two dishwashers with the same series name may use different pumps, control modules or door latches. We use original BSH parts for control modules, heat pumps, circulation pumps and anything touching water or heat; some wear items such as filters, spray arms and rack rollers have well-established equivalents that we will offer when they are appropriate. Bosch parts for the Canadian market come through BSH's distribution, and lead times vary; the written finding gives you the expected time before you commit.

Bosch questions

My Bosch dishwasher leaves dishes wet. Is it broken?

Not necessarily. Bosch dishwashers dry by condensation, so plastics and glass on the top rack may hold droplets. The technician checks rinse-aid level and dispenser, the heater circuit, the cycle selected and how the racks are loaded before quoting any part.

Where is the model number (E-Nr) on my Bosch dishwasher?

Open the door and look at the top or side rim of the door. The plate shows an E-Nr and an FD number; we need both.

Do you service Bosch Home Connect models?

Yes for the appliance itself. Wi-Fi runs through the main control module, which we diagnose and replace like any other board. We do not support the Home Connect app or account.

Do you repair compact Bosch washers and ventless dryers in condos?

Yes. Stacked 24-inch Bosch laundry is common in Ottawa and Gatineau condos. Tell us if the units are stacked and how much clearance there is; some repairs need the dryer lifted off.

How long do Bosch parts take?

It depends on the part. Some are on the truck, many arrive in days from Canadian distribution, and some production-specific modules take longer. The lead time is in your written quote.

Are you a Bosch authorized service provider?

No. RepairWell is independent and not authorized by Bosch or BSH. For repairs under Bosch's warranty, contact Bosch Canada.
